Wardrobe Additions “Fur” Spring

Chicago, IL – Fur – it’s not just for winter anymore! Fur has created a warming trend with over 380 designers using fur in their current collections. New techniques in fur design and craftsmanship allow designers to create fur fashions that transcend seasonal use. Lightweight, versatile styles pair with soft colors and subtle hues creating a fur frenzy of unique fashion statements made for mid-day to midnight. Becoming the hot commodity among the young and the young at heart, the resurgence of fur brings a touch of luxury and whimsy to wardrobes around the globe this spring.

The first sign of spring means replacing the winter artillery — heavy coats, snow boots and gloves — with this season’s fresh silhouettes. Feminine and flirty cropped jackets, capes, wraps and long shawls are created from sensuous woven sheared beaver, supple sheared mink or even soft cashmere trimmed with mink or fox. Light, little pieces transition easily from dressy to casual and allow for year-round use. For example, cardigans in micro-sheared mink or fluffy fox shrugs pair equally well with jeans or evening gowns making them a great wardrobe addition. Not to be left out in the cold, accessories spring into action with embellished fur trims found on handbags and strappy sandals. Made for stop and stare attraction, the look is super saucy for spring.

A little or a lot, subtle to sensational, Fur is the MUST have for spring! Designer Collections featuring lightweight fur pieces in their runway presentation include: Roberto Cavelli, Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace and Prada. Everyday, every wear, it’s a “Fur for all” this season! Preview the new collections at your local Associated Fur Industries of Chicagoland (AFIC) member store.
