AFIC HOLDS ANNUAL DINNER

Chicago, IL —At the Annual Dinner of the Associated Fur Industries of Chicagoland, held in March, the following officers and directors for 2003 formally took office: President - Kathy Rezny of York Furrier; Vice President – Howard Bresnik of Chicago Fur Outlet and Secretary/Treasurer - Larry Kluger of Kluger Furs. Directors elected included Sue and Larry Kluger of Kluger Furs and Gerald Brown of Island Furs. The Executive Committee consists of Jerry Waitz and Hal Waitz, both of Herman Waitz & Company.

Leather-Rich Inc. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, a long-time AFIC member, was also honored that night with a special award to thank the company for their time and efforts during the Association’s annual coat drive sponsored in conjunction with the Parent Resource Service Center in Chicago. The Resource Center provides training, community outreach, and resources to parents at the local, region, state, and national levels. AFIC’s President Kathy Rezny presented the engraved award to Rick Nettum, Leather-Rich’s Operations Chief. The coat drive is held every December and provides warm garments to needy parents of Chicago Public School children.

AFIC is a not-for-profit trade association whose mission is to provide awareness of the fur industry to the public and to educate both the public and members regarding conservation and other industry practices, standards and issues.
